What is Leading.cv?
Leading.cv is a French web service that restyles an existing CV into an elegant, ATS-friendly PDF, without rewriting its content.
An applicant tracking system (ATS) is the software many employers use to receive and sort applications. It reads the text of a CV, not how it looks. Leading.cv starts from that constraint: keep a CV that looks good, without letting the layout get in the way of that reading.
What Leading.cv does
You upload your CV as a PDF or Word file (an image is accepted, but PDF or Word gives a better result). You choose a layout, then download a PDF that's ready to send.
The content stays yours: experience, dates, wording and section titles are kept exactly as they are. Leading.cv only changes the presentation: typography, hierarchy, spacing and accent colours.
The whole process takes under two minutes. Your CVs stay in your account, so you can reuse them and adapt them for other applications.
What Leading.cv doesn't do
- It doesn't write your CV or reword its content.
- It doesn't offer multi-column layouts.
- It doesn't promise a result with any particular recruiter or ATS. What it checks is specific: that the text of the PDF can be extracted, in the right order.
- Layouts are fixed. You choose the layout, the accent colour and the font.
How compatibility is checked
Every layout is validated before it's offered, by extracting the raw text from the PDF, as an ATS does. We check that the text is real (selectable, not an image) and that it comes out in the expected order: name, contact details, profile, work experience, skills. The rendering is checked on two engines.

How Leading.cv differs from the alternatives
- General-purpose design tools leave the layout open: columns, graphic blocks, export as an image. Compatibility then depends on each choice. Leading.cv deliberately sticks to structures that have been checked. See Canva and ATS.
- CV builders mostly ask you to rebuild your CV field by field. Leading.cv starts from the CV you already have and leaves its content alone.
- Word templates can display differently from one computer to another. A text PDF fixes the layout. See PDF or Word.
Pricing
Some layouts are free, with no card required. The others can be unlocked one at a time for €2.90 as a one-off payment, or all together with the Unlimited plan at €4.90 a month. You can cancel the plan online at any time, and there's no trial that turns into a subscription. See pricing.
